Antonio Scardace is a PhD candidate in Computer Science at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Catania, where he conducts research in Medical AI with a focus on disease progression modelling for neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease. He graduated in Computer Science with top honours (110/110 cum laude) and was nominated for an academic merit award. In addition to his research activities, he serves as a member of the Scientific and Technical Committee of ITACPC, the Italian University Computer Science Olympiad.
